CICADA EMERGENCE
In the Summer of 2024, Missouri and neighboring states experienced a massive cicada event in which two long-hibernating broods awakened at once. Leading up to this occurrence, information about the cicadas themselves was simultaneously underplayed and over-sensationalized.
Designing an 11” x 17” poster for 2-color risograph printing in a satirically horror style, I presented realistic expectations for the severity of the event by addressing only the most important concerns, and sought to share in my fascination regarding the how and why of this occurrence.
